Action: Helped at the Luminaria table by selling luminaria bags, as well as answering questions about relay for life

Next Action: Sometime before March 22, i will meet with the other people in my group and help raisde money for our group. I will get the relay for life out and tell as many people as i can.

How am I Doing: The kick off party was a big success. Up until today, i wasn't entirely sure what the luminaria was about, but after hearing Matt and Mikka's short presentation, I was sure this is the committee i want to be in. It was inspiring to hear the different stories and experiences of the other members, as well as meeting the survivors. I also met a few other students from my school who are getting involved in the event.
When I found out about this event, I agreed to commit with only the intention of getting my community hours in. After the meeting however, my eyes were opened with new insight. This event is more than just getting my hours in for senior project, its more than just getting a good grade and graduating. It is so much bigger than that. The people i meet and work with are all fighting for a cure. It's really inspiring. I not only want to do this for me, but for the many other survivors and cancer patients who are also fighting.
