Next Action: I plan to meet with Mikka and Matt within the next week, two other people in my committee. Our next job, as  workers for the Luminaria ceremony, is to coordinate and create a short five minute ceremony, similiar to the actual one. We will plan this for the kick-off party on the 22nd of February.


How am I Doing: I went to Starbucks in San Bruno to meet with Jeff and Allison, the coordinators of relay for life. We waited for the two other members in my committee, Mikka and Matt. While waiting, I filled out a volunteer profile form, as well as signing a contract for volunteering.
                Allison and Jeff went over the Illuminaria ceremony, and clarified what I would need to do to fufill my duties. They answered some of my questions, for it is my first time doing relay for life. Allison gave me a handbook, something that will help guide my process and answer any further questions I may have.
               I am slowly starting to understand my task and what is at hand. The Illuminaria, as Jef called it, is the "make or break" of the event. I am determined to work hard and ensure the event is successful.
